Fast and Efficient Slurry Handling
The use of transfer tankers creates a fast and efficient method of slurry handling without the problems created by constantly compacting headlands and field entrances caused by repetitive trips to and from the slurry store.
A transfer system is where the tanker that is used for spreading equipped with top fill hatch and dribble bar or trailing shoe remains in the field during the spreading operation and only returns to the headland when refilling from the transfer tanker which normally remains on the road side and never enters the field.
The transfer tanker is equipped with a hydraulically operated transfer boom that delivers the slurry to the field tanker via a top fill hatch. Using the boom means liquid transfer can take place anywhere from the field boundary, across hedgerows and drains.
As the transfer tanker traditionally stays on the roadside, the capacities can range from 2500 to 5500 gallon depending on weight restrictions.
